BMD Group has grown from a small Queensland family business to become one of Australia’s largest privately-owned engineering design, construction and land development organisations. It has featured in the construction of Brisbane's New Runway from the outset. BMD Group was the Principal Contractor for the first construction contract – the Early Civil Works (Sept 2012 – Dec 2013) which included all the on-site preparation works. It was the Principal Contractor for the Gap Surcharge Works (early 2016) to shift 250,000 cubic metres of sand into the Dryandra Road Underpass alignment; and now an equal partner in the successful Joint Venture for the largest of the new runway contracts and indeed the largest of any Brisbane Airport Corporation construction contract ever.
